Gasoline Tax

Any idea why gasoline is so expensive? Simple. Communism. The federal gasoline tax is over 20 cents a gallon. Most states' taxes are even higher. So gasoline (sans Bolshevism and enviro-faggotry) would be closer to $1.50 a gallon.
We cannot expect the American people to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism until they awaken one day to find they have Communism. -Nikita Kruschev
You experience this thinking in action every time you pull up to the pump. Let your leaders know you're on to them:

Four smart people say about taxes:

We contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle. - Winston Churchill

I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.... - James Madison

There is no worse tyranny than to force a man to pay for what he does not want merely because you think it would be good for him. - Robert A. Heinlein

I don't like the income tax. Every time we talk about these taxes we get around to the idea of 'from each according to his capacity and to each according to his needs'. That's socialism. It's written into the Communist Manifesto. Maybe we ought to see that every person who gets a tax return receives a copy of the Communist Manifesto with it so he can see what's happening to him..- T. Coleman Andrews, Commissioner of Internal Revenue, May 25, 1956 in U.S. News & World Report
